A cart drawer is a panel that slides out from the side of your store when a shopper adds a product, so they see their cart without leaving the page. A cart drawer app replaces your theme's basic version with one that can also show upsells, free gifts and a free-shipping progress bar. We checked six of them on the live Shopify App Store on 12 August 2026 and compared the prices, ratings and features side by side.

Your shopper clicks "Add to cart." Something has to happen next. On an old theme, they get sent to a whole new cart page, and the product they were looking at disappears. On a modern store, a small panel slides out over the page instead. That panel is the cart drawer, and some people call it a slide cart or a side cart.
The drawer matters for one simple reason: the shopper never leaves. They can close it and keep browsing in one tap. Fewer people drop off, and you get a spot on screen that every buyer looks at.
That spot is worth money. A good cart drawer app uses it to show a free-shipping bar ("spend $12 more for free shipping"), a gift they can unlock, a matching product, or a cheap add-on like gift wrap. The shopper is already in buying mode, so a small nudge here often lands. If you want the wider view of upsell types, read our guide to the best Shopify upsell apps.
One warning before you shop. Nearly every app in this category calls itself a cart drawer app, but they do not all do the same jobs. Some are only a drawer. Some add gifts and bundles. A few also run offers after checkout. That last difference is where most of the cost lives, and we come back to it below.
Ratings, review counts and prices read from each live Shopify App Store listing on 12 August 2026.

A dash means the feature is not advertised on that app's listing as of 12 August 2026, not that it can never be done another way. Amp keeps free gifts on its $29.99 Pro plan. Wiser AI's plans all list the same features and differ only by monthly order count. Entry price is the cheapest paid tier for a live store, except where a free plan is shown. Always check the listing before you buy, because tiers rise with your order count.
We should say this up front: this is our app. We rank it first because it is the only one on this list that gives you the cart drawer and the offers after checkout for one price, starting at $9.99 a month.
Inside the drawer you get the usual list done well: a slide cart, a sticky cart button, a free-shipping progress bar, a multi-step rewards bar, tiered free gifts, volume discounts and BOGO, gift wrap, add-ons and cross-sells. You can also add an announcement bar with an urgency timer, and product-page upsell widgets and bundles.
The part that is hard to find elsewhere is what happens after the shopper pays. Oxify also runs one-click post-purchase upsells and lets you edit the thank-you page. So the same $9.99 covers the cart and the checkout follow-up. The editor is drag and drop, and you can add your own CSS or HTML if you want more control. It speaks 9 languages, handles multiple currencies and connects to GemPages, PageFly, Judge.me, Rivyo and Reviews.io.
Pricing goes $9.99/mo (0–100 orders), $19.99 (101–200), $29.99 (201–500) and $49.99 (501–1,000). Every tier has a 14-day free trial, and there is no free plan. The app launched in January 2024 and holds a 5.0 rating from 36 reviews, with 35 of them at five stars. That is a small review base next to Upcart, and we will not pretend otherwise. See the listing or try the AOV calculator first.
If you have seen a slide cart on a big Shopify brand, there is a good chance it was Upcart. The full listing name is "Upcart—Cart Drawer Cart Upsell", and it is built by Beam Commerce, now part of Rokt. With 848 reviews at 4.7 stars, and 92% of those at five stars, it has by far the longest track record in this guide.
The feature list is strong: a sticky slide cart, free-shipping and rewards goals, one-click add-ons, AI product suggestions, countdown timers and announcements. If your team can code, you can style the drawer with custom HTML, CSS or JSX templates, which is more control than most rivals give you.
The catch is the price and the gap. Paid plans start at $29.99/mo (0–200 orders), then $34.99 (201–500) and $54.99 (501–1,000), with a 14-day trial. The free plan is for development stores only. And Upcart does not do post-purchase upsells. Rokt sells that as a separate app, AfterSell, which starts at $34.99/mo. Run both and you are near $65 a month for two apps and two dashboards. Our Oxify vs AfterSell comparison breaks that pairing down.
Wiser AI is a recommendations app first and a cart app second. Its job is picking the right product to show: related items, "frequently bought together" bundles and personal cross-sells across your store. It rates 4.9 from 512 reviews, and its full listing name is "Wiser AI – Upsell & Cross Sell".
It earns a place here because those AI picks also run in the cart drawer, and because Wiser covers post-purchase offers as well. If your problem is "what should I show?" rather than "how should the cart look?", this is the tool.
Pricing is friendly at the bottom: free up to 50 monthly orders, then $9/mo (51–100), $19/mo (101–300) and $49/mo (301–500). The plans list the same features and only differ by order count, so the free tier is a real test, not a stripped one. There is no revenue share either, which we like. The honest limit is scope: Wiser does not sell itself as a drawer builder, so you will not find the sticky cart, gift-wrap and rewards-bar depth that Oxify, Amp or Upcart offer. Its tiers also count every store order, not just the ones its offers create.
Amp, from App HQ, is the strongest free option here. Its listing shows a 5.0 rating from 693 reviews, with 98% of them at five stars, and it carries the Built for Shopify badge. The app has been on the App Store since December 2019, so the score is not a fluke of a few early reviews.
The free forever plan is real, not a trial. It includes announcements with an urgency timer, trust badges, a sticky cart, a shipping-protection upsell, a discount code box, a terms checkbox and brand styling. For a small store that just wants a better cart, that may be enough.
Paid tiers are simple: Starter at $14.99/mo adds AI and manual upsells, a progress bar and SKU-level insights. Pro at $29.99/mo adds free gifts, BOGO and the rewards bar, plus agency-grade cart designs. Both have a 7-day trial. The gap to watch is what happens after checkout. Amp's listing does not mention post-purchase or thank-you-page upsells at all, so it stops at the cart.
Cartly, by Capitaliply, is the newcomer of the group with 82 reviews at 4.9 stars. It has the Built for Shopify badge, and its pitch is speed and simplicity rather than a giant settings menu.
You get the core kit: a slide-out side cart, a sticky add-to-cart bar, in-cart upsells and cross-sells, a free-shipping progress bar, a rewards system, one-click add-ons like gift wrap or shipping protection, countdown timers, express checkout buttons and a discount code field.
Pricing is easy to read. Free covers your first 20 total orders, which is really a longer trial. Then Starter is $16.99/mo up to 100 monthly orders, Growth is $24.99 up to 300, and Scale is $49.99 up to 750, each with a 14-day trial. Note how fast that climbs: at 300 orders a month you are paying $24.99 here versus $29.99 on Oxify, but Oxify's $29.99 tier runs to 500 orders and includes post-purchase upsells. The small review base is the other thing to weigh.
Monster Cart, by Monster Apps, is built around one idea: give people a reason to add one more item. Its listing name is "Monster Cart Upsell+ Free Gift", and it rates 4.7 from 491 reviews, with 92% at five stars.
The drawer runs progress bars that unlock free gifts, discounts, free shipping and store credit as the cart grows. On top of that you get one-tick upsells for add-ons like shipping protection and warranties, volume discounts with tiered pricing on the product page, "frequently bought together" picks powered by Shopify's own machine learning, and cart announcements.
Pricing is the sticking point. Starter is $12.99/mo but only covers 50 store orders. Scaler is $21.99/mo for 51–200 orders. The free plan is for partner test stores, and the trial is 10 days. Higher tiers exist but are not shown on the main listing, so ask before you commit. There is no Built for Shopify badge, and no post-purchase upsells.
Here is the decision that changes your bill more than any feature. Do you want the cart drawer only, or do you also want an offer after the customer pays?
A post-purchase upsell is a one-click offer shown after payment goes through, before the order status page. It cannot hurt your checkout, because the sale is already banked. Most stores want both that and a cart drawer.
Upcart is the clearest example of the two-app path. It has no post-purchase upsells, so Rokt points you at AfterSell, its sister app, which starts at $34.99/mo. Upcart's entry tier is $29.99/mo. Together that is about $65 a month, two setups and two dashboards. Amp, Cartly and Monster Cart do not cover post-purchase either, so they need a second app too.
Oxify and Wiser AI are the two here that list both jobs in one subscription. Oxify starts at $9.99/mo with the drawer and the post-purchase offers included. That is the honest case for it, and it is the main reason it leads this list. Put your own numbers in the AOV calculator to see what the extra revenue would need to be to cover either path.
A quick note on how post-purchase offers behave, because it is worth knowing before you buy. Shopify's docs say a customer can accept a maximum of three post-purchase offers for each checkout. Offers also do not show when the customer paid with an installment or wallet service such as Klarna, Affirm, AfterPay, Apple Pay, Amazon Pay or Google Pay, with a gift card, or with any payment method other than a credit card. Plain Shop Pay is fine, because it charges a saved credit card. Shop Pay Installments is not.
Use this list on any app, including ones we did not rank. It is the same checklist we used above.
Once the cart is working, the next win is usually the page after checkout. See our guides to customising the Shopify thank-you page and the best post-purchase upsell apps, or start from the Oxify homepage.
If you want the cart drawer and the offers after checkout in one bill, Oxify Cart Drawer & Upsell is the cheapest way to get both, from $9.99/mo. Pick Upcart if you want the biggest track record and deep design control, and you accept paying for AfterSell as well. Pick Amp if you want a real free plan, Cartly if you want something simple and fast, Monster Cart if gift rewards are your main play, and Wiser AI if picking the right product matters more than the drawer itself.
This guide is published by the team behind Oxify Cart Drawer & Upsell, and we rank our own app first. To keep the rest fair, every app is judged on the same checklist, every entry has real cons, and we say where rivals beat us.
Every price, plan limit, rating and review count on this page was read from each app's live Shopify App Store listing on 12 August 2026. The rules about post-purchase offers come from Shopify's own developer documentation. Numbers change often, so check the listing before you buy.
A cart drawer is a small panel that slides out from the side of your store when a shopper adds a product. It shows the cart without loading a new page, so the shopper stays where they were. Most cart drawer apps also add upsells, free-gift goals and a free-shipping progress bar inside that panel.
A cart page is a separate page. The shopper leaves the product page to see it, then has to click back. A cart drawer slides over the page the shopper is already on, so nothing is lost. Both hold the same items, but the drawer keeps people browsing and gives you room to add offers.
A well-built one adds very little weight, because the drawer loads with your theme and does not need a new page. Apps with the Built for Shopify badge have to meet Shopify speed and quality rules, so that badge is a useful filter. Still, test your own store: run a speed check before you install and again a week later, and keep only one cart drawer app active.
Yes. Most cart drawer apps let you set a spend goal that unlocks a gift, and a progress bar shows how close the shopper is. Oxify, Amp and Monster Cart all advertise tiered free-gift rewards. Check the plan you are buying, because some apps keep gifts on a higher tier.
Yes, a few. Amp has a free forever plan, Cartly is free up to 20 total orders, and Wiser AI is free up to 50 monthly orders. Oxify and Upcart have no free plan for live stores, but both start with a 14-day free trial.
Of the apps here, Oxify and Wiser AI list post-purchase upsells alongside the cart drawer. Upcart does not, so stores that want both usually add AfterSell from the same company, which is about $65 a month for the pair. Shopify also lets a shopper accept a maximum of three post-purchase offers for each checkout.
