An upsell app helps you sell a little more to shoppers who already want to buy. We compared the 10 most popular Shopify upsell apps across every moment you can upsell — in the cart, at checkout, one click after payment, in bundles, and through AI product picks — with pricing, ratings and free plans re-checked on the live Shopify App Store in July 2026.
Best all-in-one
Cart drawer, gifts, discounts and one-click post-purchase in one app — starts free, from $9.99/mo.
Best free plan
A genuinely generous free tier up to 50 orders a month, no revenue share, and it covers post-purchase too.
Best for Shopify Plus checkout
The deepest in-checkout A/B testing, plus Rokt Thanks ad revenue on the top tier.
Best low-cost thank-you funnels
A free plan plus paid from $4.99/mo, with the biggest review base in this guide.
Best frequently-bought-together
Amazon-style bundle cross-sells from an app whose AI is trained on a billion-plus orders.
Best for high-volume personalization
A modular AI platform — smart cart, recommendations and search — for scaling brands.
An upsell app for Shopify does one simple job: it nudges a shopper to add a little more to their order. That might be a bigger size, a matching add-on, a free-gift threshold, or a one-click offer right after they pay. Done well, it lifts your average order value without spending a cent more on ads — you earn more from the traffic you already have.
That leverage is the whole point. The average order value across online stores sits at roughly $145 (Shopify), so nudging it up even a little — on every order — adds up faster than chasing new visitors.
There are four moments where you can upsell, and the best Shopify upsell app for you depends on which ones you want to win:
This is the broad guide that covers all four. If you specifically want to go deep on the post-purchase type — the one-click-after-payment offer — read our focused companion piece on the best Shopify post-purchase upsell apps. Read that when post-purchase is your only question; read this one to compare upsell apps across the whole journey.

Prices, ratings and review counts are publicly listed Shopify App Store data verified on 8 July 2026 and simplified for comparison. Many apps bill on tiers that rise with monthly orders, upsell revenue or funnel views, so always verify current pricing on the official listing before you buy. Not every app fires in every spot. This grid shows the moments each one covers, plus whether it has AI picks, a free plan and a Built for Shopify badge.

| Enterprise | Enterprise | |||||
| Monetize | ||||||
Rule of thumb: post-purchase (one-click) offers work on every Shopify plan; only in-checkout offers require Shopify Plus. "Enterprise" or "Monetize" means the feature is limited to that plan tier. Verified 8 July 2026.
"Best" means different things to different stores, so we scored every app out of 100 against five weighted checks, then matched each one to the shop it actually fits.
One disclosure, repeated from the top: this guide is published by the team behind Oxify, and we list our own app first. We name where rivals genuinely beat us — AfterSell on Plus checkout testing, ReConvert on entry price, Rebuy on enterprise depth — so you can judge the criteria for yourself. Always verify current pricing on each App Store listing before you buy.
We'll be upfront: this is our app. The reason it leads the list is that it's the only option here that covers the whole journey in one subscription — and now starts free. A shopper opens the slide-out cart drawer and sees AI cross-sells and "frequently bought together" picks, a free-gift and rewards progress bar, add-ons like shipping protection, and in-cart subscription upgrades. Behind that sits a BOGO and volume-discount engine, a free-shipping bar, and an announcement bar with urgency timers.
After payment, the same app runs a true one-click post-purchase upsell and a thank-you-page editor — and because those offers are built on Checkout Extensibility, they work on every Shopify plan, not just Plus. In practice that means one app replaces a separate cart-drawer tool, a gift/discount app and a post-purchase app, sharing one bill and one dashboard.
Pricing now includes a genuine free plan, then $9.99/mo for 51–100 monthly orders, $19.99 for 101–200 and $29.99 for 201–500, with a 14-day trial on paid tiers. It carries the Built for Shopify badge and a 5.0 rating across 42 reviews. You can install it from the Shopify App Store or read the line-by-line comparisons.
AfterSell, now owned by Rokt, is one of the most established post-purchase and checkout-upsell apps. Its Smart Funnel AI, native A/B testing and analytics are excellent, and on Shopify Plus it extends into the checkout page itself with granular segmentation by product, cart value, customer tag, language or UTM. Its top tier also turns on Rokt Thanks, which can earn roughly $0.80 per order from relevant partner ads on your thank-you page.
Pricing is order-tiered: $34.99/mo for up to 500 orders, rising to $54.99 at 1,000 and $99.99 at 2,000, with a 30-day trial. See our full Oxify vs AfterSell breakdown.
ReConvert — now leading its listing under the Upsell.com name — built its reputation on thank-you-page funnels: surveys, one-click upsells, reorder reminders and segmented offers in a drag-and-drop editor. It has the biggest review base in this guide at 4.8 across roughly 2,824 reviews, and it now offers a genuine free plan with AI upsells, bundles and analytics before paid tiers begin at $4.99/mo (up to 50 orders or $50 of upsell revenue).
The bill climbs with orders or upsell revenue after that, and the app is centered on the post-purchase and thank-you moment rather than the whole funnel. More in our Oxify vs ReConvert comparison.
Zipify OCU comes from the team behind ZipifyPages and carries that funnel-builder DNA, running AI-powered pre- and post-purchase one-click upsells across the product page, cart, checkout and thank-you page with split testing and proven templates. The catch is pricing: an $8/mo base that scales with the upsell revenue it generates — roughly $35/mo at $200–$1,000 of upsell revenue and about $99/mo between $1,000 and $5,000.
At 4.5 stars across 525 reviews it has the lowest rating of the ranked apps, though it remains a favorite of structured, funnel-first marketers. See our Oxify vs Zipify OCU comparison.
Selleasy is the value pick. It covers Amazon-style frequently-bought-together bundles plus product, cart, checkout and post-purchase upsells, and its free tier is genuinely usable: up to 50 orders a month with no revenue share. Paid plans are gentle at $9/mo (up to 500 orders), $19 (1,000) and $29 (1,000+), and it's rated 4.9 across 2,456 reviews with hands-on support.
It doesn't have the deep A/B-testing labs of AfterSell or the all-in-one cart drawer of Oxify, but for breadth-per-dollar it's hard to beat.
If your growth lever is bundles, this is the category-definer. Frequently Bought Together by Code Black Belt puts an Amazon-style "frequently bought together" block on your product and cart pages, and its recommendation AI is trained on more than a billion orders, so the pairings it suggests tend to convert. It carries a Built for Shopify badge, rates 4.9 across 1,116 reviews, and has a free plan with paid tiers from $9.99/mo (up to 50 orders) to $39.99.
It is deliberately focused — it does bundle cross-sells extremely well, but it isn't a post-purchase or checkout suite, so pair it with a post-purchase app if you want that moment too.
Honeycomb, from Conversion Bear, is known for a useful free tier — 100 funnel views per month, including true one-click post-purchase offers and A/B split testing (with Honeycomb branding). It's a capable pre- and post-purchase builder with a clean, no-code editor and an autopilot mode.
The pricing is views-based rather than order-based, and the jump from free to the first paid tier is steep at $54.99/mo (then $109.99 and $169.99), with a 4.7 rating across 150 reviews.
Wiser AI focuses on AI-driven product recommendations — related items, "frequently bought together" and personalized cross-sells across the storefront, plus post-purchase and order-status upsells. It rates 4.9 across 532 reviews and carries a Built for Shopify badge.
Note the pricing model has changed: it's now $10/mo plus 0.5% of Wiser-generated sales on the Growth plan, and $100/mo plus 0.5% on Enterprise (which unlocks checkout recommendations, a cart-drawer upsell and Intelli Search). There's no longer a free plan, so budget for the revenue share as you scale.
Rebuy is the high-volume, data-driven option: a modular personalization platform with AI recommendations, a customizable Smart Cart, search, checkout and post-purchase upsells, and Smart Flows automation. It integrates deeply with tools like Klaviyo, Attentive and Recharge, and rates 4.7 across 827 reviews.
Core plans start at $25/mo and scale with monthly orders and the modules you switch on, so costs rise with ambition. There's also a free "Rebuy Monetize" option that earns roughly $0.20–$0.35 per order from the thank-you page. It's more platform than most small stores need to start.
Candy Rack, from Digismoothie, specializes in slick in-page upsell and cross-sell pop-ups from the product page through post-purchase, with an AI mode (now powered by Google Gemini) that picks relevant products for you. It also includes a built-in slide cart with a rewards bar, A/B testing and 24/7 support.
It rates 4.8 across 206 reviews, and pricing is order-tiered starting at $29.99/mo (Lite, up to 50 orders) with unlimited upsell orders on paid plans and a 60-day money-back guarantee. It leans toward the in-page moment, so it's a focused cross-sell tool more than a full all-in-one.
There are five places a Shopify upsell can show, and each converts differently. Knowing the map helps you match an app to the moment you care about.
Most stores get the biggest, lowest-risk lift from the cart plus a one-click post-purchase offer. If you're weighing when to make the ask, our guide on post-purchase vs pre-purchase upsells breaks down the trade-offs.
Here's an angle most "best apps" lists skip. If you set up thank-you-page offers years ago with custom code, they are on the way out. Shopify has retired the old checkout.liquid and Additional Scripts customizations in favor of Checkout Extensibility.
The Additional Scripts box has been view-only since 28 August 2025. The final deadline for Shopify Plus stores was 28 August 2025; for non-Plus stores it is 26 August 2026. Automatic upgrades began in January 2026, and they wipe old script-based customizations.
What this means for you: pick an upsell app built on Checkout Extensibility so your offers keep working after the deadline. Every app in this guide runs on the new stack — but if you're still on legacy scripts, moving now avoids a gap where your upsells simply stop showing.
A one-click post-purchase offer needs a standard card checkout to work. It will not appear on some orders, and that's normal — not a broken app.
Offers are skipped when the shopper pays by cash on delivery, gift card, or a wallet or buy-now-pay-later method like Apple Pay, Google Pay, Amazon Pay, Klarna, Affirm, Afterpay or PayPal. They also skip orders with duties or multiple currencies, and local-delivery orders.
A few more limits: the order must be at least $0.50 and placed through the Online Store, Shopify allows only one post-purchase app active at a time, and a shopper can accept a maximum of two post-purchase offers per checkout. If you sell heavily on cash on delivery, plan your upsells around the cart and product page instead.
Rough time to install an app and launch one working offer. None of these need a developer for a basic setup.
| App | Typical setup | Coding needed |
|---|---|---|
| Oxify | ~15 min | No |
| Selleasy | ~15 min | No |
| Frequently Bought Together | ~10 min | No |
| ReConvert | ~20 min | No |
| AfterSell | ~30 min | No |
| Honeycomb | ~20 min | No |
| Candy Rack | ~20 min | No |
| Zipify OCU | ~30–45 min | No |
| Wiser AI | ~20 min | No |
| Rebuy | ~1 hr+ | Optional |
Estimates for a basic single-offer setup; advanced funnels, custom design or Plus checkout work take longer. Rebuy's modular flows reward deeper configuration.
Skip the feature checklist for a second and start with your store. Here's the simplest way to match a store type to a pick:
Before you commit, put a number on the upside. Use our upsell revenue calculator to estimate the revenue an upsell could add, and the average order value calculator to see where you stand today. Even a modest take rate on a relevant offer compounds across every order.

Read the guide →If you want the most value from one app on any Shopify plan, an all-in-one like Oxify Post Purchase Upsell (free to start, from $9.99/mo, ★ 5.0, Built for Shopify) covers the cart, discounts, the thank-you page and one-click post-purchase offers together. Choose AfterSell for deep checkout testing on Plus, ReConvert for low-cost thank-you funnels, Selleasy for the best free all-rounder, Frequently Bought Together for bundles, and Rebuy for personalization at high volume. Whatever you pick, start with the upsell moment that adds revenue with the least risk — and test your own offers rather than trusting any headline benchmark.
It depends on which upsell moment you want to win. For most stores the best value is an all-in-one app that handles in-cart, post-purchase and discount offers in one subscription. Oxify Post Purchase Upsell bundles a slide-out cart drawer, AI cross-sell, free gifts, BOGO, volume discounts, a thank-you-page editor and one-click post-purchase upsells — with a free plan and paid tiers from $9.99/mo — on any Shopify plan, plus a 5.0 rating across 42 reviews and a Built for Shopify badge. If you only need one slot, such as deep checkout A/B testing on Shopify Plus, a specialist like AfterSell (from $34.99/mo) can go deeper.
For most stores, yes. An upsell app raises the value of orders you were already getting, so the extra revenue comes without extra ad spend. Even a modest take rate on a relevant offer compounds across every order, and many apps have a free or low-cost tier so you can prove it works before you commit. The key is relevance — a matching or upgraded product converts far better than a random add-on.
It varies by store, offer and traffic, so treat any single number with caution. The honest way to think about it is mechanical: if even a small share of buyers accept a relevant offer, your average order value rises on every order that shows it. Rather than trust a headline benchmark, test your own offers and watch your real average order value — you can estimate the upside first with our upsell revenue calculator.
Selleasy has one of the most generous free tiers — up to 50 orders a month with no revenue share — covering product, cart and post-purchase offers. Oxify and ReConvert also have genuine free plans, and Frequently Bought Together by Code Black Belt offers a free tier for bundle cross-sells. Free plans are always capped by orders, views or revenue, so re-check the total cost as you grow — a low free tier can become the priciest option at scale.
A one-click upsell is an offer shown right after payment, on a dedicated post-purchase page that loads before the order-status page. If the shopper accepts, it adds to their existing order with a single tap — no second checkout and no re-entering card details. That low friction is why post-purchase offers are one of the easiest, lowest-risk ways to lift order value.
Yes, for most upsell types. In-cart upsells, cart-drawer cross-sells, AI recommendations and one-click post-purchase upsells all work on every Shopify plan from Basic up, because post-purchase offers are built on Checkout Extensibility. Shopify Plus is only required for in-checkout (pre-purchase) upsells that appear on the checkout page itself.
Not really. Shopify has no native drag-and-drop builder for post-purchase or cart upsell offers, so you need an app to create and control them. The upside is that apps built on Checkout Extensibility run natively inside Shopify's own flow, so a well-built one adds the feature without slowing your store.
You can run several upsell apps that cover different moments — for example a cart-drawer app and a post-purchase app — but Shopify allows only one post-purchase app to be active at a time, and a maximum of two post-purchase offers per checkout. To avoid clutter and conflicts, most stores are better served by one all-in-one app than by stacking several single-purpose tools.
A well-built upsell app should have little to no impact on speed. Post-purchase offers run after payment on Shopify's own pages, so they never slow your storefront or checkout. Apps built on Checkout Extensibility load natively inside Shopify's flow rather than as heavy scripts. The main thing to watch is stacking many overlapping apps — fewer, well-coded apps beat a pile of single-purpose ones.
An upsell offers a better or bigger version of what the shopper is already buying — a larger size, a premium tier, more quantity. A cross-sell offers a related product that pairs with it — socks with shoes, a case with a phone. Most Shopify upsell apps do both, and the wording in the app usually treats them together. The goal is the same either way: raise the value of the order without adding checkout friction.
A one-click post-purchase offer needs a standard card checkout. It is skipped when the shopper pays by cash on delivery, gift card, or a wallet or buy-now-pay-later method like Apple Pay, Google Pay, Amazon Pay, Klarna, Affirm, Afterpay or PayPal. It also skips orders with duties or multiple currencies and local-delivery orders. The order must be at least $0.50 and placed through the Online Store, and a shopper can accept at most two post-purchase offers per order.
